ALL-NEW MAZDA3 ON SALE AT WARRINGTON MAZDA FROM MAY 2009

The all-new Mazda3 range for 2009 will go on sale at Warrington Mazda, priced from £13,500 to £21,500, bringing great benefits to local retail customers and businesses. The 15-strong model line-up of hatchback and saloon models will arrive in the Bewsey Road showroom from 18 May and boasts improved aerodynamics and retuned powertrains, resulting in significant reductions in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption – great news for businesses and private retail customers alike.

"The all-new Mazda3 features all the key attributes that made its ‘big brother’, the Mazda6, so popular with retail customers, fleet buyers and businesses with company car drivers," explained Stuart Dempsey, Sales Manager at Warrington Mazda. "As well as ultra-competitive whole-life costs, strong residual values and class-leading specifications, motorists will also benefit from the dramatic CO2 emission reductions Mazda’s engineers have achieved to bring all-new Mazda3 models below either the 120g/km or the 160g/km tax thresholds."

The CO2 output of the 1.6 petrol model has been cut to just 149g/km, from 162g/km on the current model, the 2.0 petrol is down to 159g/km from 189 g/km due in part to new i-stop technology and the 1.6 diesel is now just 119g/km, down from 128g/km, and benefits from only £35 per year road tax.

As a result of the emission cuts, fleets – whether they buy or lease the all-new Mazda3 – will reap savings in National Insurance contributions, which are paid on employee benefit-in-kind, and corporation tax under the strict new regulations coming into effect in April.

Mark Cameron, Mazda UK sales and marketing director, anticipates the all-new Mazda3 is going to be even more popular than its best-selling predecessor.

"The all-new Mazda3 brings the sophistication, style, technology and refinement of the new Mazda6 to the compact family car market," comments Cameron. "The new model is improved visually, technically and in terms of comfort, with even more generous specification at each equipment level and safety-boosting DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) fitted as standard on every model, while continuing to deliver excellent value for money."

Warrington Mazda will offer Mazda3 customers a choice of three petrol and three diesel powertrains, all fine-tuned to use less fuel. On the combined cycle, fuel consumption ranges from 41.5 to 44.8 mpg (manual transmission, petrol models, excluding MPS) and from 50.4 to 62.8 mpg (diesels). The 2.0 Automatic delivers fuel economy of 37.2 mpg.

Technical innovations include the fuel-stretching ‘i-stop‘ (Smart Idling Stop System) technology on the Mazda3 2.0 Sport – which can deliver fuel consumption savings of up to 14 per cent on the combined cycle – and the new five-speed automatic transmission on the Mazda3 2.0 TS2 model.

Safety is paramount on all-new Mazda3, with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and an Emergency Stop Signaling (ESS) System standard on all models. This system automatically activates the hazard warning lights at cruising speeds when the ABS sensors detect emergency braking. The system automatically cancels the emergency signal when either the demand for ABS relaxes or when the brake pedal is released.

Warrington Mazda customers who prefer a petrol engine can choose from 1.6 105ps and 2.0 150ps powertrains for the eight new Mazda3 models. The choice of diesel engines for six Mazda3 models is expanded with the new model to encompass 1.6 109ps, 2.2 150ps and 2.2 185ps engines.

NEW MAZDA RX-8 R3 DELIVERS EVEN MORE DRIVING FUN

Sports car fans can now buy the new version of the Mazda RX-8 at Warrington Mazda in Warrington with typical 4.9 per cent APR* finance. The latest rotary-engined, four seater, four-door coupe is on sale at the Bewsey Road showroom priced at £24,995 (on the road). Powered by the unique 231ps twin-rotor engine, the new Mazda RX-8 R3 offers drivers a heightened experience with faster steering, chassis and engine responses, more refinement, more equipment and even greater value.

"The Mazda RX-8 is already a design classic. There really isn't anything else like it on the market," enthuses Stuart Dempsey Sales Manager at Warrington Mazda. "Mazda has been perfecting the rotary engine for 40 years, and the RX-8's RENESIS twin rotor power unit's mix of high-revving smoothness, reliability and performance is very special. At under £25,000, the new Mazda RX-8 R3 is still incredibly good value for a 146mph sports car with the ability to reach 62mph in just 6.4 seconds."

The Mazda RX-8 has always had the appearance of a classic sports car with a powerful looking and dynamic exterior design. This has now been enhanced by the standard fit Sports Styling Pack, which comprises a sport front bumper, side skirts and rear wing all finished in body colour. The new model's front wings no longer feature the air extractor vents behind the wheel arches and accommodate the turn-repeater lights instead. In addition, it also has a larger five-point grille, new front headlamps, new front fender designs, new twin round LED rear lamps and a redesigned rear bumper with larger exhaust pipes.

The more aggressive appearance is complemented by the all-new larger diameter 19-inch alloy wheels with ultra-low profile tyres. These extra-light wheels have five 'rotor shaped' spokes and are finished in dark titanium.

The new Mazda RX-8 R3 is available in four new body colours –– Aurora Blue Mica, Crystal White Pearlescent, Diamond Grey Metallic and Sparkling Black Mica –– and two carry-over colours, Sunlight Silver Metallic and Velocity Red Mica. Whatever colour customers choose, there is no additional charge.

"The changes made for the Mazda RX-8 R3 have not detracted in any way from the unique selling points that made the Mazda RX-8 such a stunning car at its 2003 launch," explains Stuart Dempsey. "Mazda RX-8 is still the world's only rotary-engined production car and, that very rare creation, a genuine four-seater coupe. The freestyle doors ensure good access and the car has the typical Mazda functionality, practicality and reliability that also make it a 'use-me-every-day' kind of car."

"With the new-look Sports Styling Pack for the Mazda RX-8 R3, Mazda is taking a step back towards its sports car heritage, giving its coupe the appearance of a Japanese racing car," added Mark Cameron, Mazda UK sales director. "The model delivers an even more focused and sporty driving experience, while retaining the original model's many uniquely attractive technical innovations and adding numerous premium features. The new Mazda RX-8, together with the Mazda MX-5, is sure to maintain Mazda's position as 'Britain's favourite sportscar brand'."

MAZDA2 ACHIEVES 84MPG IN FUEL ECONOMY CHALLENGE

After completing more than 410 miles on the gruelling ALD Automotive/TOTAL Excellium Fleet World MPG Marathon 2008, a Mazda2 diesel entered by Mazda Motors UK has secured a splendid second-place finish, recording an exceptional 84.58mpg.

The objective of the MPG Marathon was to promote eco-driving and highlight the fuel savings that are possible with a little thought and the use of 'smarter motoring' techniques. A demanding route over a wide variety of roads in mid-Wales and the north-west Midlands attracted a field of 39 cars and crews from 22 manufacturers – representing a broad cross-section of vehicles. The event challenged crews "to improve upon the car's official 'combined cycle' fuel economy figure" by the biggest margin.

Mazda2 1.4 5dr TS² Diesel crew members – motoring journalist Sue Cooke and her daughter Joanne – fully exploited the supermini's light weight and smooth aerodynamics, plus the engine's 68ps and excellent torque (160Nm at 2000rpm). After two days of competitive 'economy' driving, they scored a 19 per cent improvement on the combined cycle figure (65.7mpg) of this popular Mazda, while averaging 40mph. The Mazda2 diesel has a CO2 rating of just 114g/km and qualifies in the £35 road fund licence band.

A delighted Sue commented: "I have never regarded my driving style as being expertly economical, but adopting a common-sense approach and employing some basic 'smarter motoring' techniques – accelerating gently, shifting-up early and planning ahead to avoid unnecessary braking – allowed us to clearly demonstrate the huge fuel economy potential of the Mazda2."

Ultimately, seven cars achieved more than 70mpg and eight recorded more than 80mpg. Event organiser, Ross Durkin, publisher of Fleet World magazine, explained: "It's not what you drive, but how you drive that makes the difference. Once again this event has shown that skilled driving techniques work and can make a dramatic impact upon miles per gallon."

Mazda's 'Smarter Motoring' Tips

  • Change up 'early' through the gears, just before the 'peak-torque' rpm
  • Ease your speed. Driving at 70mph uses around 15 per cent more fuel than at 50mph
  • Anticipate to avoid unnecessary braking and stopping
  • Use the air-conditioning sparingly as it increases fuel consumption
  • Switch off the engine whenever it is safe to do so
  • Check tyre pressures regularly
  • Remove unnecessary weight from your car
  • Reduce aerodynamic drag whenever possible, e.g. removing roof racks when not in use
  • Follow the recommended servicing schedule

WARRINGTON MAZDA PUT THE CUSTOMER FIRST

Warrington Mazda puts the customer first with a showroom refurbishment at its Bewsey Road dealership to provide a more welcoming environment and easier access to showroom vehicles.

The new reception and redesigned showroom provide an attractive environment for customers, ensuring the showroom meets the latest Mazda standards and bringing it into line with the dealership's customer service ethos.

"We believe in meeting the needs of our customers and our improved showroom is part of that," explains Warrington Mazda dealer principal Irvine Ginger. "The redesign includes a new floor, ceiling and lighting that ensure the models in the showroom are easier to view and access, while the new reception allows us to better welcome customers and deal with enquiries."

Warrington Mazda recently joined Mazda's 'Zoom-Zoom Plus' programme, whereby all the used models sold by the dealership are approved by Mazda UK. When drivers purchase a used Mazda from Warrington they can be assured of the quality of that vehicle.

"With such a wide range of Mazda models available, we have a car to suit everyone, no matter what their preference and now that we have become an approved used Mazda dealer we can also provide models to suit all budgets," enthuses Irvine. "In addition, we tailor our finance packages to make it possible for each customer to drive away with the model that they really want."

Irvine goes on to point out that Mazda has just been presented with the 'Best Carmaker Award' by consumer organisation Which? "Now really is the best time to purchase a car from Warrington Mazda," he concludes.

The showroom refurbishment is part of Warrington Mazda's preparations for its 40th anniversary celebrations, which will be running throughout 2009. To find out more about this and the full Mazda range, or to arrange a test-drive, please call Warrington Mazda on 01925 418 431 or visit the refurbished showroom on Bewsey Road.

MAZDA2 ADDS THREE-DOOR TO MODEL LINE-UP

A three-door version of the award-winning Mazda2 is now available at Warrington Mazda in Bewsey Road. Starting at just £7,999 on-the-road, the Mazda2 3dr is one of the most price-competitive small cars in the UK.

"This is the first time that Mazda has offered a three-door variant in its popular Mazda2 model range," commented Iain Ginger, dealer principal at Warrington Mazda. "The newcomer features all the technology and attributes of the five-door hatchback, while delivering the same sporty feel to its dynamic drive at an even more affordable price."

The Mazda2 5dr, which was introduced in September 2007, broke the industry trend for increasing weight and size with each successive replacement model. Thanks to Mazda’s weight-reducing 'gram strategy', the new Mazda2 is 100kg lighter, leading to excellent fuel consumption –– up to 65.7mpg. It also gives the range a CO2 emissions rating starting at 114g/km, equating to an annual road tax rate of just £35. Occupant safety levels are still amongst the best in class and whilst the three-door model is yet to be tested by Euro NCAP, a best possible five star rating is expected to match the Mazda2 five-door performance.

Largely in recognition of Mazda's 'dare to be different approach' the new Mazda2 was named ‘World Car of the Year 2008’ beating a list of 39 other contenders, including the short-listed Ford Mondeo and Mercedes C-Class. Previous winners of this coveted award include the Lexus LS460, BMW 3-Series and Audi A6.

Both the three-door and five-door versions of new Mazda2 share common exterior and interior dimensions. The differences between the two body styles are the rear seat shoulder room, which is 25mm larger in the five-door model as well as the three-door’s front door being 220mm longer than the five-door.

The exceptionally generous standard equipment on the new three-door model of the Mazda2 parallels the five-door’s specification closely with only a few differences. The three-door model features ‘tilt-and-slide’ front seats to allow access to the rear seats, unique side sills in the Sports Styling Kit and the exclusive availability of Crystal White Pearlescent exterior paint on all models.

Ultimately, the three door version of the Mazda2 will be offered with the same choice of three petrol engines, and one turbo-diesel engine, as the five-door –– each mated to a five-speed manual transmission. At launch, customers can choose from the 1.3-litre petrol engine in two power outputs (75 and 86ps), and a 1.4-litre 68ps diesel. The 1.5-litre 103ps petrol engine will be available in the three-door from the end of July.

'WORLD’S BEST CAR' ON SALE AT WARRINGTON MAZDA

Warrington Mazda in Warrington is expecting a rush of potential customers looking to buy a Mazda2 supermini this week after the all-new five-door hatchback was voted ‘2008 World Car of the Year’ (WCOTY) by an international jury of 47 automotive writers.

The new Mazda2 was hailed as the ‘World’s Best Car’ at the recent New York International Auto Show when the title-winning Mazda was selected from a list of 39 contenders from across the globe and beat the short-listed Ford Mondeo and Mercedes C-Class to claim the highly-acclaimed WCOTY crown. Previous winners of this coveted award include the Lexus LS460, BMW 3-Series and Audi A6.

"I’m not surprised that the Mazda2 was voted 2008 World Car of the Year," enthused Iain Ginger dealer principal, Warrington Mazda. The new Mazda2 appeals to supermini buyers thanks to its distinctive styling, spacious cabin and excellent driving dynamics. Add in low running costs and low CO2 emissions, acknowledged by receiving the highest WCOTY 'environment' score, and Mazda2 starts to tick all the boxes for small car buyers.

"This highly-acclaimed accolade confirms that Mazda2 is indeed one of the very best cars available in the supermini market."

The all-new Mazda2 went on sale in the UK last September and has already attracted more than 6,000 buyers. Five versions of the five-door hatchback are available with a choice of three petrol and one diesel engine plus three equipment levels – priced from just Ł8,499 on-the-road for the 1.3-litre, 75ps petrol TS model.

Through innovation and ingenious weight reduction, the new Mazda2 represents a bold break with automotive trends, reversing the spiral of ever increasing weight and size. The Mazda2 now weighs 100kg less than its predecessor and is 40mm shorter. Keeping the car’s weight below 1,000kg cuts fuel consumption, allowing the Mazda2 to achieve an impressive 65.7mpg. It also gives this Mazda a CO2 emissions rating starting at just 114g/km, equating to an annual road tax rate of just Ł35 and complete exemption from London Congestion charging when the proposed changes are introduced later this year.
